Why the CST Internship?
God’s Church must discover and equip next-generation leaders. This requires a focus on growing their knowledge, developing their skills, and maturing their character. The CST Internship is designed as a two-year venture that accomplishes these by…
Knowledge – an accredited Master of Arts in Theological Education
Skills – Experience and coaching in local church ministry
Character – One-on-one mentoring by a mature leader
Knowledge
The Cornerstone School of Theology offers 15 courses (45 credit hours). These fulfill the requirements of a Masters of Arts in Theological Education and are accredited through Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (Kansas City, MO). The courses are taught on-site and seek to accomplish these objectives:
Skills
Cornerstone Church is a thriving and growing church with expanding opportunities for hands-on ministry experience. Future leaders who are accepted into the CST Internship program will be on the staff, serving 15 hours per week, in one of the following:
D6 (Family ministry)
180 (Middle School ministry)
Escape (High School ministry)
The Salt Company (university ministry)
IFC (International student ministry)
Regional and Global Ministries
Worship and Arts ministries
Connecting and Training ministries
Character
Paul was bold in his instruction to Timothy: “Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers” (1 Timothy 4:16). Maturity comes by watching others who are further along than you are and receiving life-giving counsel from them. A Cornerstone Church staff, elder, or leader will meet weekly with the CST intern for ongoing character development.
Finances
Applicants who are accepted in the program will receive $500/month beginning at the end of their first month of work. Additionally, Cornerstone Church will pay ½ of tuition costs for those who maintain a 3.0 or greater GPA in MATS program.
Application Procedure
Applications are always due by Feb 1st in the spring prior to the summer/fall starting date.
